When Things Get Messy, Let Virginia Beach Plumber Clear Clogged Tubs

There’s no worse feeling than seeing your tub full of murky water because the drain is clogged. Instead of taking a nice dip in the morning, you are torn between clearing the thing yourself and calling a professional plumber in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, Yorktown, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Tabb, Grafton, Smithfield, James City County, or Hampton Roads.

You end up resorting to the latter as you can’t shake the gross feeling about what you’ll have to dig out of the drain. The Unclog Blog has listed ten of the weirdest things ever found lodged in drain pipes:

      • Bedspread – honestly, we’re not sure how this is even possible, but it is documented that someone managed to do this.
      • 2 sets of long underwear
      • Lingerie
      • Piranha. Imagine being the person who pulled this out of a drain.
      • 14 pairs of men’s XL briefs
      • 2.2 meter boa constrictor. Only slightly more unsettling than finding this is finding a 2.4 meter rattlesnake in someone’s bathroom plumbing.
      • 6-pack of beer
      • 2.5 pound trout
      • Automobile parts
      • False teeth. Not just one set, mind you, but 20 sets pulled from a single drain.

While probably the most common drain clogs are hairballs and small plastic packaging, no one would likely suspect pulling up a two-and-a-half pound fish out of the pipes. The amateur DIY hobbyist wouldn’t possibly expect to find any of the ten things listed above, but an experienced plumber can.

If a simple hairball is the problem, a practical DIY approach is possible. Usually, the problem is in the stopper where the hairball attaches. Pull this out by unscrewing parts until it’s completely disassembled. Simple house tools are enough. A wet-dry vacuum cleaner can be handy – sucking strength can easily uncork those clogs along with the murky water. Using unclogging chemicals will help, too; be warned, though, that they could be hazardous to the fixtures in the long run.

Our experienced plumbers serve Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, Yorktown, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Tabb, Grafton, Smithfield, James City County, and Hampton Roads and are trained to unclog virtually anything.
